Ideology in My Controversy

Haggstrom, Mikael. "Knee Diagram". 4/17/2011. Public Domain.

The people involved in this controversy over whether ACL surgery causes OA would be organizations and groups such as Sports injury groups and arthritis groups as well as research groups such as university sanctioned research.

Some of the major voices associated with this controversy would be the ones that are the most affected by ACL ruptures or arthritis pain. Doctors and surgeons would also have a big voice in this debate.

The arthritis and Sports injury organizations hold a lot of power simply because there are so many people that suffer from them. They have an immense following which gives them a lot of economic, political, and social power.

The main resources available regarding this controversy would be research that has been conducted on the correlation of ACL ruptures and the onset of OA.

Each group values the health of every individual and is looking for a help reduce the side effects of these injuries.

Research would have to be conducted in order for there to be sufficient evidence to prove that there is/is not a correlation between the onset of OA and ACL reconstruction.

In my case of controversy its not a question of two groups fighting against each other. Therefore, one group doesn’t hold more power over the other. Instead of formal groups I would say that there is people who exist with differing opinions.

There is no acknowledged/unacknowledged ground between each group. My controversy has to do more with a lack of efficient evidence to prove either side wrong.

I think that the people that are doing the research on the association of ACL reconstruction and the onset of OA have t go in with an open mind to eliminate all bias. Researchers are trying to conclude on a idea so most people are open to explore both sides of possibility.
